    Account Executive, Property and Casualty Insurance

     The opportunity:

    Borden Perlman seeks experienced Account Executives with a commitment to a client centric focus. The Account Executive is a client decision-maker facing position.  This position reports to the Executive Vice President.  The Account Executive ensures that the Borden Perlman value proposition is introduced to our accounts in a consistent, meaningful, accountable and professional manner. This position interacts with clients, insurance markets, outside relationships, accounting, marketing, claims, loss control and management as part of servicing function.  The Account Executive must develop strong relationships with our clients, insurance carrier markets, and Borden Perlman knowledge leaders.  This position must interact professionally with Borden Perlman producers and other Borden Perlman Commercial Lines staff and participate in revenue growth initiatives while retaining accounts in a proactive nature.  It is expected that the Account Executive has a very high degree of expertise and can work independently.  In addition, this position is expected to provide supervision, assistance, leadership and development of developing staff members.

    Primary responsibilities will include:

    Responsible for enhancing and delivering the Borden Perlman Value Proposition with the goal of exceeding our Retention Goals, and providing strategic support to our New Business efforts:

    • Proven track record of cultivating relationships with C-Suite Executives
    • Experience with large, complex accounts
    • Supporting producers with the design and execution of winning closing strategies
    • Mergers and Acquisition Due Diligence
    • Responsible for overall service and operational standards for team, including Renewal Calendar, Binding Checklist, and E&O prevention initiatives.
    • Prepare and maintain Service Calendar in collaboration with client and Producer
    • Fully utilize Borden Perlman resources and other Data Analytics tools
    • Conduct regularly scheduled and as-needed internal team meetings
    • Client interface at pre-renewal/stewardship meeting, renewal proposal presentation, claim review and loss control meetings
    • Direct the coordination of loss control, risk management, and exposure analysis services
    • Coordinate and implement special claims handling procedures/prior claims services (if applicable)
    • Responsible for coordinating Cross-Sell opportunities
    • Develop and maintain key carrier relationships
    • Manage ongoing client service functions, including, but not limited to:
      • Trending and loss development analysis
      • Contract review
      • Stewardship Presentations
      • Mod calculations
      • Borden Perlman coverage standards and identifying any coverage deficiencies
      • Proposals, charts and presentations
      • Service Quality Assurance Procedures
      • Policy Audits
      • WC Dividend calculations
      • WC Retro LOC Loss Fund Adjustments
      • Supervise billing and invoicing to include Bi monthly aging and discrepancy reports 
      • Endorsements
      • High level review of Certificates of Insurance issues
    •  Working as directed with outside vendor services
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    Required Qualifications and Experience:

    1. College degree preferred
    2. At least 10 years of experience in insurance as a technician
    3. Must possess strong technical skills
    4. Well organized with excellent math, written and oral communication skills
    5. Valid property and casualty insurance agent license
    6. Insurance designations preferred
    7. Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point)
    8. Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail
    9. Ability to collaborate with other team members and co workers
    10. Project a polished and professional image as this is a client facing position

    The opportunity:

    Borden Perlman seeks experienced Insurance Producers with a commitment to a client centric focus. The Producer is a client decision-maker facing position.  This position reports to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  The Producer takes a lead role in identifying new business opportunities for Borden Perlman, and utilizes our value proposition and sales methodology to organically grow our business.   The Producer is responsible for prospecting best in class accounts.  Specific sales goals and service responsibilities are determined during the yearly planning process.   Service and sales standards must be met with emphasis on the quantifiable benefit of the insurance services presented to the client. 

    Primary responsibilities will include:

    Responsible for enhancing and delivering the Borden Perlman Value Proposition with the goal of exceeding our Growth Goals.   Duties and responsibilities Include but are not limited to the following; other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.

     

    1. Assists in the development of sales objectives. Meets the forecasted qualified appointments and commission growth goals as established with VP of Sales and Marketing.

     

    1. Creates and maintains prospect and suspect lists within our pipeline management system.

     

    1. Pre-qualifies insurance prospects for insurability and quality of risk.

     

    1. Identifies the client’s insurance needs, gaps in coverage, and loss exposures (insurable and uninsurable).

     

    1. Obtains accurate information from the prospects; including research notes, business objectives, completing applications, supplemental questionnaires, risk surveys, and other related documentation in order to provide complete, comprehensive submissions.

     

    1. Designs insurance programs and recommends insurance coverage to clients.

     

    1. Meets agency standards for account receivables.

     

    1. Participates in community activities.

     

    1. Reviews client’s insurance programs annually and makes recommendations.

     

    1. Accurately documents client files and electronic files.

     

    1. Maintain a concern for timeliness and completeness when interacting with clients, agency, and company personnel to minimize potentials for error or omission claims.

     

    1. Follow agency Standard of Excellence and Best Practices.

    Qualifications:

    • A minimum of 4 years' experience in consultative business to business sales
    • Successful track record for results
    • Ability to work with Risk Managers and C Suite management
    • Bachelor's degree is highly preferred
    • Insurance designations such as ARM, CIC etc. are a plus
    • Competent user of Microsoft Office products
    • Leadership skills
    • Insurance experience preferred, but will train candidates with exceptional potential
    • Must secure proper licensing within 60 days of hire

    Commercial Lines Account Manager – New Brunswick and/or Ewing, NJ

     

    SUMMARY

    The Account Manager is a client facing position.  This position reports to the Account Executive.  The Account Manager ensures that the Borden Perlman Service and Operational standards are carried out in a consistent, meaningful, accountable and professional manner. This position interacts with clients, insurance markets, outside relationships, accounting, marketing, claims, loss control and management as part of servicing function.  The Account Manager must maintain relationships with our clients.  This position must interact professionally with Borden Perlman producers and other Borden Perlman staff while servicing accounts in a proactive nature.  It is expected that the Account Manager has a very high degree of expertise and can work independently. 

     

    Assist with the Management of Accounts Responsible to Client Executive, interacts with management, claims, marketing and accounting departments as part of servicing function.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsible for carrying out the Service and Operational standards with the goal of exceeding our Retention Goals and preventing E&O exposures

    • Carry out ongoing client service functions, including, but not limited to:
    • Renewal Checklist Procedures
    • Binder Checklist Procedures
    • Carry out Service Calendar tasks
    • Insurance Binders, Binder Letters
    • Data entry into EPIC
    • Draft client proposals, charts and presentations
    • Ensure coverage standards and identify coverage deficiencies
    • Track Stewardship Activities
    • Billing and Invoicing
    • Prepare Analytics Calculations
    • Maintain Exposure Schedules
    • Review for accuracy completed applications
    • Transmission of information to clients and insurance companies
    • Secure subjectivities and binding documents from Client
    • Bind with carriers, obtaining binding confirmation and policy details
    • Troubleshoot on accounting issues
    • Preparing pre-renewal information
    • Directly responsible for Certificates of Insurance, Auto ID Cards, Endorsements, and coordination of these tasks with outsourcing resources
    • Fully utilize Borden Perlman resources
    • Coordinating the serving of accounts with the Producer and Account Executive
    • Working as directed with outside vendor services
    • Other duties assigned

     

    Staff Supervision

    • Provide guidance and training for the following personnel, in accordance with Company standards and direction:

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Must be well organized with excellent math, written and oral communication skills.  Must possess strong technical skills.

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High School Diploma or preferably, college degree

    At least 5 years of experience in insurance business as a technician

     

     

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    Must possess Property/Casualty Agent’s/Broker’s license

     

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
